For Our Friend, Ġorġ

Ġorġ Mallia obituary (illustration by Derek Fenech)

When Ġorġ passed, so many illustrators instinctively began drawing him. Amidst our grief, MCOI decided to do what we so often do; collect and document these portraits. As many will know, Ġorġ himself had a habit of drawing people who passed away, whether they were friends or public figures he admired. It therefore felt only fitting that we should do the same for him.

So here is a small tribute to Ġorġ from all of us at the Malta Community of Illustrators. Ġorġ will without a doubt continue to inspire future illustrators, academics and writers, just as he inspired so many of us. Read more
